Even the value engineered renderings look like they have retail, and it seems like this is a spot they’ll make money on that type of space. I wouldn’t be quite so glum!
It is hard, but I will try…
I mean they’d be dumber than dirt not to still include the planned retail at a major transportation hub in the heart of one of the most densely populated areas of downtown these days…
Can’t fill retail spots that are there now …
Can I please get some picks

Queremos ver fotos de mexico!
Take me some photos of the districto federal por favor.
not much has changed (visually) except for maybe a few steel support beams on the exterior walls and a protective cover over the adjacent track area
Great pictures! Thank you!
I hadn’t noticed the prep work on the tracks side of the building, though I haven’t looked either.
Something I hadn’t thought about - I hope they keep some of the backside of these warehouses… kinda miffed they’re barely preserving any of the front facade, so I doubt it… not really keeping in theme with the “WAREHOUSE” district if you remove all the… warehouses
It’s a historic name, like the meat packing district. Or an ironic name.
The Where??house District
@Jake - now that is funny
Unfortunately it’s not getting preserved. It appears the entire side facing the tracks will be some form of screening. Described as “70% openness assumed at garage for ventilation”
I’m sure the developer is looking at this 2-fold.
- They don’t need to spend extra time and money preserving that section.
- They don’t need to build more elaborate exhaust fans and duct work since this side will be exposed for ventilation.
So the entire length of its backside, 5-7 stories up will be ugly as shit, got it!
