Rave and Show Raleigh Off

Those’ll be at the arena not Moore Square. Tickets are $10 and go on sale to STMs at 1pm today and to everyone else at 1:30pm. Will be really interesting to see the turnout here. I actually think it’ll sell out. Free parking.

This is so funny - why did I assume they could ONLY do these watch parties for home games??? They’ll all be on TV!!! Though @StreetviewRDU implies that only Lenovo will host watch parties for the away games, but is this official?

I’m not sure if it’s only Lenovo for the away games or if they’ll keep the free one at Moore Square too. But they’re definitely opening up Lenovo for games 3 and 4. You have to get a $10 ticket through Ticketmaster but it’s a donation to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

The city is not competing against the Lenovo Center watch parties, but private ones like Smoky Hollow will likely continue as a business venture.

Based on the queue for tickets to the Lenovo watch party for game 3, I’m guessing it will sell out. So maybe that factors into the city doing the Moore Sq one again to try to fill up the demand?

The city’s multi-panel screen was being working on specifically for the World Cup (obv short sighted given the Canes run to the Stanley Cup Finals) so I don’t expect they’ll have it back before the end of the Cup Finals.

I was just at Lucky Tree in Moore Square for lunch and some crews were setting up what appeared to be a huge apparatus that indicated to me will be a much larger screen.

Anyone go? How was it?

I didn’t but it looks like they replaced the comically small screen with a slightly wider, comically small screen LOL

I swear Raleigh is constantly half-assing any and everything possible.
