Red Hat Amphitheater and Outdoor Music

It’s planned, but I believe they’re waiting for the new one at this point (I could be wrong, and we might be adding it now and just moving it over to new one later). Also being added to Convention Center and Performing Arts Center (digital signs).

a particular show at RCC that coincides with a Red Hat Event…not much cross polarization in such instances I guess?

if not kept could some streets from that original document get ‘special’ street signs…some historical themed design, iow?

FYI on this, I have it on good authority that acoustic engineers are in fact engaged on this project. I would be surprised if they weren’t, but have confirmation that they are. We’ll see how well they do if this project comes to fruition.

I told you all you needed to do was reach out and ask

Heads up, if you’re a proponent of having a downtown amphitheater, you may want to email your city counselors. I’ve heard from a :bird: that Livable Raleigh is out in force (of course) and the votes don’t support the new proposal. Of course if RH doesn’t move, it’s just gone as the CC expansion is happening regardless.

I should have some more info on this later but wanted to get this out there.

Do they literally just hate everything and anything fun or nice or useful? I swear some of those people walk around popping kids’ balloons just to make them cry…

Why am I not surprised. A small group of people screwing it up for the whole city.

Livable Raleigh. What a joke. Why would they be opposed to this? WTF man?

What on earth??? It’s like our one universally beloved downtown amenity

Does anyone know if RedHat have a contract with the city or provide any “kickback”. If so, that would be one way to help deflate the “Livable Raleigh” group. IMO

I think Boylan Heights is up in arms as well. I wrote a support letter to the Council if that is worth much a few weeks back.

I so want to change that name to what they really are. Like shrinking Raleigh or something.

I also heard that our new Mayor to be has possibly been convinced by the Livable Raleigh Group. I hope this is not true. But if so we may have people wishing for MAB in the near future.

And why I am on this rant. What is livable about Raleigh without entertainment, places to eat, shop, live and work??? It just really sticks in my craw.

Here’s a post from our pals at Livable Raleigh & the Red Hat relocation.

I’d prefer moving the amphitheater to another spot like the one below if it can’t fit on the block without disrupting the grid, personally. I don’t think that’s what Livable Raleigh want though.

Am I tripping? You could make it really big on this lot too, and there’s a vertical gradient already there.

Why are you stirring up so much drama about this whole project? There’s nothing actually in doubt about this happening at all. See you at the block party tomorrow where anyone can go get all the information they desire instead of taking rumors on here at face value.

Boylan Heights already has a grade separated highway leading straight from downtown – Western/MLK. I think they’ll survive the street closure…

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm. They’re concern is most definitely noise, not street closure

I think that we should move it into the middle of Hayes Barton. Is that property where those townhouses were going to go still available?
