Not only that quote, but this other one as well:
“Raleigh Country Club, founded in 1948, a community partner and green space steward, certainly didn’t ask for 16 units crammed next to a tournament fairway without a single word of consultation.”

If they wanted to control that property, maybe they should have purchased it? I can’t believe that we are now at a place where the NIMBYs golf courses are triggered by development that’s next to them.
I could see this argument potentially working along one of the FTDO corridors that indeed has nonexistent transit, notably the Beltline-adjacent one (Northbrook, St. Albans, Highwoods, etc.).
But RCC is bounded by the #15 and #19, which both run 4X/hour – putting them in the top tier of GoRaleigh routes by frequency.
About as novel as a country club member here ever riding the bus…
That also falls apart when you notice that right across the street (Donald Ross) from their main entrance are two large apartment complexes. (Old and rundown, but nonetheless…)
They should be glad that this one is gonna be “cottages” and just get over it.
I made it over there for a beer but my son was too rambunctious to stay. Ryan said the corner towards the patio will have a pool table eventually. Nice to have a new neighborhood bar
I was surprised to see many cars there last night on my way downtown. But I wasn’t sure because it looked like they didn’t even a sign up yet, or any other obvious indicators that it was an open business. Interesting.
LMAO why is the RaleighCleanup page doing The Rock eyeroll gif comment on that???
