Residential Infill along the New Bern - Edenton corridor

I know that the city has put a mini roundabout in North Ridge in north Raleigh because my mother is complaining about it.

This is just a renovation right? They’re not demo’ing the whole building, just the interior(?)

Adaptive reuse of current building. There’s a rendering of what the building will look like on a sign in front of the property

This has potential. Wish it connected easier by bike/foot to the neighborhoods to the north.

??? It’s very walkable already from all the new housing being built to the North (behind the building), Longview Gardens, etc. Once the BRT project starts it will get even better walkability-wise…plus the new transit will allow folks from WakeMed all the way into the City Center to get there easily.

Every time I drive between Oakwood and Alamo / WakeMed, there seem to be more townhouses and other housing built up at that giant project to the east of St. Augs. Should be more and more coming.

Has the other property that goes to the Raleigh Blvd corner sold?

Good to hear! #characters

Keep ‘em coming! How are you getting this inside access?!

When you say 1601, is it just one unit on the end or the entire strip?

Thanks for the info!

FYI, SFD, townhome etc do not have HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical reviewers at City. They have stamped plans with most firms having in house plumbing, HVAC designers on staff. These are BLDR in Raleigh’s permitting system and the building review makes sure they are stamped. Commercial have reviewers for each trade fire, Transportation, building, etc. and get permits from each trade.

Construction starts in the fall. I’m not sure of the time difference between the demo and start, but that’s what I was told.

ooh. good point. a buddy sent this to me today. Didn’t even pay attention to the date! figured it was ‘hot off the presses’…

Well I did see this as well & its dated “May 2023”. From the City. The crappy corner gas station is apparently being acquired by the City on New Bern & Raleigh Blvd. Next to 1601 New Bern that just started renovations.
