The Reynolds proposal from back in the day was my first let down in regards to Raleigh development hype. This and the Soleil Center at Crabtree.

Well get ready for Round 2 of disappointment because even though this lot is now rezoned for 40-stories, I don’t think anything is actually happening to this building right now.
Yeah when the prior ownership rezoned this building to allow for 40 stories they very explicitly said that they did not have anything planned and that they were just doing it while council was favorable to add flexibility. There wasn’t really any development planned. Remember, this was way way back in 2021 when interest rates were bottomed out.
The Association of Counties bought this last year and I would guess that the fence is either for parking lot restriping or interior upfit.
It’s honestly quite a nice building, I just wish the parking lot out front was a big plaza or something instead.
