This just doesn’t sound like Cary. They alway, well typically always vote for these bonds. Until now.

May as well build a horse and buggy factory.

Or at least a temporary gravel parking lot.

In reference to @pBeez idea for a Mr. Peanut statue at the new peanut roundabout, I present the Mr. Peanut statue in Suffolk, VA.

Raleigh’s Street Design Manual is pretty good, BUT it has a fatal flaw: the fire department doesn’t care one whit about it.

What is the practical impact of that? They decide things are out of code that are in the manual?

That’s a cool building, but then I’d have to live in Charlotte. Ew.

We looked into that in September, decided it was too expensive, so we went to Top of the Rock for half the price :money_mouth_face:

Just back from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. I would implore you to include Asheville or other western NC communities in your vacation plans in the near future. Now with drinkable water again Asheville for the most part is back to business. The intense and very sad damage is located in a few areas like Swannanoa to the east (horrible devastation here), Biltmore Village (extreme flooding here) and lower River Arts District (up the hill everything is fine) I had people thanking me for coming at local restaurants, the hotel everywhere. They are based on tourism and really need visitors. Biltmore is fine yes the front gate and souvenir store flooded and trees are down all over the estate, but the beauty of the House and other buildings is still standing. So head west on I-40 this holiday season and spent a few bucks in greater Asheville or anywhere in western NC. Having a prolonged recession in the local economy is not anyone best interests in this state. Black Mountain is in good shape while neighboring Swannanoa is not. Downtown Asheville untouched yet a couple miles south Biltmore Village is closed up temporarily. People want to talk to others about it as it was traumatic for the entire region. Just listen and support them. So go visit and suppport your fellow North Carolinians!

Charlotte skyline today. To extreme right is the new 42 story Queensbridge apartment tower up to about 33/34th floor now. The Panthers almost spoiled Taylor Swift’s fun today.

I’m so mad about that game. My god how I wish the Panthers pulled through, and they were CLOSE!!! Grateful for my Bills taking them down last week, but how FUNNY would it have been if the Panthers continued a Chiefs losing streak (also would’ve given the Bills a better shot at the 1 seed)… alas

German-style Christmas Markets have a vibe that can’t be beat. Why don’t we try to replicate this here?
