Yeah, this is in the same vein as Kalahari in Virginia (massive facility under construction south of Fredericksburg off 95 but still an hour+ from DC or Richmond). I didn’t know there was really demand for these huge convention spaces (Gaylord was the only player in this space until recently). I assume they’ve done the market research, but these still fascinate me.

I know this is a very triggering issue, however, flew down to Atlanta this weekend to visit my cousin. She was still at work so I took the train directly from the airport terminal into downtown Atlanta with just a tap of my CC. Super easy, and surprisingly quick.
I did note while walk around solo that a lot of the areas I was wandering around, the sidewalks were pretty sparsely populated. I didn’t feel threatened or anything, just a little uneasy as there just didn’t seem to be anyone around. The huge plaza in front of the Truist Plaza (303 Peachtree Street) was 100% deserted.
Another quick train ride from downtown to Decatur and I connected with my cousin. Super easy, relatively cheap and no dealing with cars and parking. I sincerely don’t understand why more people aren’t onboard with better transit options.

When I go to Atlanta, I always take MARTA from the Airport. I agree that it’s incredibly convenient and fast if you are going Downtown or Midtown.
