Sites 2 & 3, Omni CC Hotel + Tower

If you read what I said, I am not against the Kimpton hotel taking over the Holiday Inn’s lot. I am quite in favor of that project happening. All I said was that I would like the buildings on this project push to be towards the upper end of their zoning level (40 stories).

The renderings they originally released showed what 40 stories would look like at that end of downtown. Based on the height of the surrounding buildings, it would most definitely stick out and I am hoping we would get something of high quality.

While I’m extremely excited and hopeful about this, I do hope they don’t rush and skimp on the plans. Wait until we can do the full thing.

Some sort of corridor walk through lined with ground level shops and restaurants leading you between South and Leonor is a can’t miss with this and I hope they knock that out the park.

Agreed 100%, this is for sure something we need to take our time with. I’d be so heartbroken if we plop down another 20-ish story building just to put something there :man_facepalming:

This could definitely have a LOT to do with the revitalization of Fayetteville St along with the added residential at NCAE. Fayetteville St will be the closest entertainment district to capture their attention and $$. It’s going to take more than just this development and NCAE but they will bring a captive audience!

Those are such great lots I wish the city would market it directly to companies instead of developers. Imagine AWS would build a 40 story tower there

Chase Manhattan bank, just added branches in cary and Raleigh, maybe they will look to downtown as there headquarters, maybe.
It would b3 cool if one of the tower was for the bank. Just dreaming a bit.

While more office Hqs would be great, for this parcel I really think we should focus on residential / hotel / mixed use. Fayetteville St desperately needs some more round the clock activity toward the south end of it.
Of course, anything striking is better than the surface lots there today.

:100: more residential! Imagine Raleigh’s largest condo building!

I honestly feel like both towers will consist of residential units, with more being in the residential/hotel tower of course. I just wonder how many total units will come to fruition, hopefully at least 1k.

gotta love that monster parking pedestal facing the Residence Inn. It completely covers the view of all of the east facing rooms.

I really hope it becomes a green wall once built. We desperately need some green walls to help make some of these bland decks more appealing.

It’s sad that even in the rendering they didn’t try to make it more pleasing for the guests of the Residence Inn…

I think this can happen again, before 2030 but I feel like there needs to be a Gucci store here.

Why are y’all against GUCCI, we can afford it and so can y’all. @GucciLittlePig @Kanatenah @RobertSanderlin cmon y’all could flock there with Apple their employees could certainly afford it.

Not against it. If Gucci wants to open a store here, then go right ahead. I won’t try to stop it.

I’m just tired of hearing about it in every 4th of your posts, like it’s the one things that defines a great city.

Well it adds value I don’t think it defines a great city, the same could said for MLS adds value. And shows were a great city.

To me, GUCCI is nothing more than a mall store. If it fills a vacant storefront, then I’m good with it. Crabtree/Triangle Town Center have vacant space. If you really want one, write to GUCCI. They would be the ones to open the store. I think Raleigh already has the spaces for it. GUCCI just needs to be the one to make the move.

As a company, I don’t understand the hype but everyone has their thing I guess.
