Sites 2 & 3, Omni CC Hotel + Tower

It might be a square box and we may lose the Saunder’s money shot….but damn, it looks mighty fine.

Much better than the Marriott box, for sure. I wonder why they didn’t have the tower portion run along Fayetteville or Salisbury instead of Lenoir?

Anyone made a rendering of the money shot with this tower?

I hope once enough hotels are built, the CC Marriott can be refit/replaced. Ugliest building downtown that isn’t utility or government oriented.

Not sure about a Puttery as those are free standing the ones I have seen however this TopGolf branded SwingSuite just opened in the Ballantyne Hotel in south Charlotte. This is what it could be. They are almost all at hotels

From the thread on the 2029 World University Games: regardless of whether the sports simulation venue happens, the Convention Center expansion will be especially poppin’ four years from now.

I know DTR sorely needs hotel rooms & I may be in the minority, but the main tower is boring and uninspiring. It’s probably same generic glass box design built at most locations around the country. :face_vomiting:

IMHO the design is cool as hell. Finally someone is doing something other than a straight up tower thingie. PLUS having the OMNI here is huge bonus for Raleigh.

Here’s my very rough attempt in Google Earth…

I think that Omni is sized too large, but overall two thumbs up for the good effort.

Maybe a bit more like this? I’ve pulled the heights directly from the plan and tried to match the perimeters as best I could – really its just hard to get a good camera angle in google earth

I think that you have it just a bit too wide. Maybe take off about 15% from the right side?

Overlaid the plan and traced it for this attempt – this is about the limit of how accurate I can be w/ google earth:

Google Earth through programs like Sketchup lets you design with actual measurements and we have them from the public data, so everything you’re seeing is accurate.

this was just drawing polygons straight in google earth so i’m sure it’s not perfect
