Got a pic today.
This is about 1 of 50. At least this sign is pointless, only people who already have an opinion know what Z-12-25 is
Doesnāt the city have some kind of rule about yard signs on public right of ways? Like you canāt do that without a permit and only at certain times. Looks like that is trashing up our city. I personally donāt want to see it.
Hereās the state law, which I think applies since Glenwood is technically US-70:
I think political signs are only allowed from 30 days before the start of an election to 10 days after one, and anyone can remove signs running afoul of that
Tell the city council āno to parkour?ā I can get behind that message. N(parkour)IMBY
I do think the city can allow signs for yard sales and real estate open houses but you have to get a permit. I donāt know right off hand what the rules are for Raleigh. But I bet two dollars to a donut that the Not in my backyard tower folks didnāt go to city hall to get a permit.
Iām pretty sure theyāre just definitely not allowed, not a lawyer but I donāt see how else to read this
Iāll start taking them down and let yāall know how it goes. Please crowdfund my bail if needed.
I love how most people whizzing by are just gonna see āNOā with zero context lol
Did a toddler write the sign?
We need to crowdfund signs that we put next to the illegal signs that says:
This sign is illegal
Tell City Council - NO to illegal signs
I have always wished they would ban them completely except at polling places. They are wasteful, create litter, and look like crap.
Agreed. If individuals and businesses want to put them on their own property - thatās one thing.
But on public streets and general public spaces, all these signs should be banned. Election season or not.
What we all arenāt understanding is that these people think that THEY own the public land and private parcels that are anywhere near them.
If that render is to scale, each floor will have 400 foot ceilings and the total height will top Burj Khalifa
Just print out a bunch of āYESā and get a roll of packing tapeā¦
Raleigh is a major city. These people should not be taken seriously.
They have a right to state their opinion regardless of the logic (or absence thereof) behind it. Whether theyāre taken seriously is ultimately a political decision. Based on news today that Kane wants to go to 37 stories at North Hills again, the same debate is about to begin there.
The controversial but correct opinion. The complaints of a few thousand people in a few neighborhoods should not override the needs of millions of people who live in this region, and millions more in the future.
more like a few dozen tbh. many, maybe even a majority, of people in SFHs adjacent to downtown are pro-development. itās the best of both worlds for them. they just need to speak louder.
