na, that one has buttons, one of those newfangled ones. Then guess some people would call the dial ones newfangled also, Darn dials took away the pleasure of talking to operator and tell them who you want to talk to.
I was actually thinking the same thing! Would be cool to put an old school phone booth out front. Here’s a shot I took of my dad while we were in Islay, Scotland.
Nice but I would like a blue police call box. They can make really really long distance calls not like just local with a transporter. ( lol weekend sillyiness)
Im glad this is finally starting. I use to go to Men At Work barbershop across the street and couldn’t believe how long that huge whole was just left sitting.
Roomier on the inside too.
I told my then 9-year old son to run into a telephone booth on Carnaby Street London for a photo op. He had this weird bug-eyed expression on his face as I took the pic. I went to get him and saw the inside was plastered with adverts with some topless women. I promptly took him to Hamleys toy shop to try and get him to forget all about it. He still makes a face whenever he sees one of those red phone booths on tv.
What was the exact address of this telephone booth?
The current work appears to be related to the culvert that is being replaced and needs to be done to in order to reopen Dorthea Dr. I’m not 100% sure if actual site work /construction will ensue once this phase is complete. I hope so tho because I hate that damn pit with a passion.
Can someone remind me- was this new condo building going to have any ground floor retail space?
I went to the rezoning meeting recently and they’re basically just waiting on this to be complete before starting on the western side of the lot. The eastern/corner side is getting rezoned to 4 stories. They estimated an 18 month completion on this phase once it started. So sounds like about 2 years for the western side to complete. Not sure when the eastern side will start.
@jake, the rezoning sounded like they’re adding ground floor retail as it had a bunch of self imposed restrictions related to businesses.
Why can’t these be brick boxes?!
Wow, let’s destroy MLK/Wester BLVD muahaha.
Seriously that’s the biggest bummer for southern DTR.
So that first picture confirms it will be 2 buildings. First I’m seeing that! Very cool
And just like that, the Lynde pops up on the Wire.
Requesting rezoning from NX-3-UL to NX-4-UL-CU which it seems @Straggler mentioned was presented at a recent CAC meeting? Has there been a CAC vote yet?
Starting in the mid $300s for under 700 square feet.
Looks like condos going forward DT are going to start around $500/ft2.
I have one that’s ready today that I’ll sell for $500/sq ft.
Man, price per square foot in downtown is climbing. I thought I paid crazy at $320 a square foot for a Ware at Transfer townhome.
I bet The Nash raises the bar even higher.
I paid under $240 a foot back when Paramount was presale, and I thought that was insane at the time.
