Getting kind of wild there is still no renderings

Iā€™m sure this has changed since Project Phoenix was announced in 2018, but this was posted near the beginning of this thread.

I think there is a ā€œfootprintā€ for the new building(S) somewhere in an ASR, but no actual renderings that I remember seeing.

I didnā€™t get a snap of it but I did see demo fencing around the Bath Building so maybe thatā€™s coming down soon as well.

yeah - coming down this year and being turned into green space per this article and interview with N&O - good summary of all the changes coming https://www.newsobserver.com/news/politics-government/article287479690.html

"Once used by the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services as lab and storage space, the Bath Building has been nearly vacant for more than a year. The asbestos abatement process is starting this month, he said.

Once that building is torn down, the block will be turned into green space, Edwards said. Beyond that, there isnā€™t a plan for it, he said."

The very nondescript site plan included in Leoā€™s quoted post is the most Iā€™ve seen to date and confirms that the 2018 rendering is changed. But as far as I know thereā€™s nothing available

I know this is a busy news cycle but it is disappointing that nobody in the press has thought to ask why Paul Coble and Phil Berger are basically doing this by themselves without showing anyone before itā€™s done. Seems less than above board.

Yeah itā€™s actually very strange. Why is it a secret? Who else is approving the final design?

I am, from the very bottom of my heart, not sorry.

Hi wey, Iā€™m glad to officially be here after years of reading on the lay low. Nothing personal against Spero, but I believe after reading thousands of posts here on many different local topics the clowning on his post above cut too low. Looking forward to being a beneficial contributor. Peace to you all!

100% agree on my end. Guys, can we keep the comments about hidden chambers for Satanic ritual orgies/human sacrifice contained to the ā€˜Dungeons of Raleighā€™ thread? This is no way to stay organized.

You left out the cat and dog eating aliensā€¦

Off to a great startā€¦

We occasionally seed comments like @Speroā€™s to pull lurkers out of the dark. Seems it worked again!

(sorry, more bad humor?)

It only gets better.

NYCRDU is correct.
This project will have 8 floors of office and conference space in the main building situated along Lane and built on top of 2 underground levels of parking. The main building is connected to a 5-story tall center-of-foundation atrium that will also connect to a narrower 5-story office wing. The shorter building will stretch southward from the atrium towards Jones. The first 5 floors of both buildings will connect via skybridges through the center atrium. Dozens of new trees will be planted on large lawns on both sides of an extrawide sidewalk that will lead to the main enterance from Jones Street. The new ground level greenspace will be nearly triple the previous DoA. The majority of the rooftop on the main building will be open greenspace, walking paths, gardens, and dotted with benches and tables. When completed it will undoubtedly be the stateā€™s crown jewel of state office buildings and will look astetically better inside and out than nearly every comercial office building built in Raleigh this century. If you can picture a combination of One Glenwood and 521 Hillsborough at Bloc 83 (minus the ledā€™s) that would be the closest resemblence to how this project will look once completed. Final completion target is late 2028.

Lmao incredible. Next can you please explain why theyā€™re cooking this up in secret? I assume itā€™s normal corruption/power grab but maybe Iā€™m wrong!
