I spy a crane base! This is a HUGE plot and I can’t imagine there won’t be 2 cranes for this project. It would help to know what’s actually being built of course.

GIVE US THE RENDERINGS! Kinda wild we don’t have them but this is moving ahead at full speed which is great.

I really hope it’s a multi-building complex and not just one massive building that kills the street atmosphere. Diversity keeps things interesting.

Agree, a massive building with no retail and parking garage frontage is a huge missed opportunity. But I think we all know that’s what’s coming.

Who knows, I think 2 massive buildings would suffice but :man_shrugging:t4:

I’m hoping for a single 4 story building with no windows covering the entire site.

We all know it’s because they’re hiding the sex dungeon.

I was thinking they are hiding a prison in the plans.

Someone here already saw them and said it’s two massive buildings that should make us happy. So I actually have high expectations. The only reason to hold them back at this point is if they were worried about public perception, i.e. too gaudy, too expensive looking, too extravagant for education buildings, etc, which I would be fine with lol. Considering there’s no street activation, I’m hopeful we at least get interesting architecture and engaging public spaces out of this.

We probably won’t get the latter to be completely honest given the State’s weirdly dystopian looking nearby public squares. Nonetheless, I may be wrong and I’d loved to be.

$10 says they looking strikingly similar to Texas newish “education tower”.

Sooo, they built a parking deck that’s typical for them. :joy:

It won’t have any street atmosphere regardless, because the shortsighted guy in charge refuses to lease any retail space… even though it’s literally across the street from a busy tourist attraction. So other than adding slightly more height than the previous building, this new one essentially changes nothing to the pedestrian experience (aside from some new but IMO not entirely necessary green space) and adds nothing to the character of the street. SO deeply stupid and shortsighted.

Its one T-shaped building. Other than a big plaza on the Southeast corner, the ground floor is pretty walled off.

Thanks, I thought someone said two buildings connected by an atrium. If you’ve seen them, can you please elaborate and tell us why they haven’t been shared, in your opinion? Makes no sense not to publish renderings and generate excitement (a la Raleigh city hall). So why hasn’t the public seen them?

The only thing shared was this one level plan:
