Also Halifax Mall as well, across Wilmington.
Afraid to admit that I liked the Bath Building. Kinda sad to see it go. I can understand why it has its haters though.
The bland office park buildings on Halifax Mall are much worse in my book.
Oh don’t you worry - I hate those buildings, too! LOL
dept of health and the rabies lab…no wonder it was fortified.
God I’m so mad they are going to tear down the archdale building.
Seems like it would be fairly efficient to strip it down to the structural steel and clad it with glass curtain wall.

I see where you’re going with this and I’ll just stop you right there. You will get an empty, unused patch of grass here and YOU WILL LIKE IT.
Putting this here for discussion: has there ever been talk about changing the street split at the Archdale so that Salisbury & Wilmington connect like a grid to Peace? It looks like there are two natural connection points that could be made instead of having this really inhospitable split.
It would be good for pedestrians crossing from Seaboard.
Great map at the link! Thanks for this reminder from long ago!!
I think Leo was in middle school back then.
I feel like it’s been kicked around in more official circles as well, just not very recently. The 2015 COR 10 year plan talked about making straight paths for pedestrians and bikes only.
I’m probably for it, but you end up with three stoplights spaced pretty close together for Salisbury, Halifax, and Wilmington, and I imagine it would gum up traffic pretty good for people trying to either turn left out of downtown or turn left going into downtown.
I went to DEQ yesterday and tried to spot the location of the rumored third crane base, but I couldn’t find anything as I was driving by.
Yeah I feel like it got covered with dirt and was never seen again.
They’re shoring up the substructuresystem before engaging the platform synthesis. It’s all prerequisites before phase 2.4.
Could also be inspection delays.
It could have been a sand filter, or a big duct bank
