A few bills signed into law today by Governor Stein
House Bill 162 removes mandatory minimum parking requirements for developers across most of North Carolina
House Bill 1173, known as Jaleeyah’s Law, increases penalties for gang-related crimes and makes it easier to classify individuals as gang members or leaders for the purpose of harsher sentencing
House Bill 1104 changes how North Carolina handles involuntary commitments, which is the legal process by which a judge orders someone with a severe mental illness into treatment. The bill focuses on keeping violent suspects out of hospital emergency rooms and aims to conduct mental health evaluations in county jails instead. It also expands outpatient commitment options and connects defendants to treatment so they can stand trial

Yeah I hesitate to say “good job” when they’ve finally done the bare minimum of their damn job for the first time in 3 years. Utter disgrace.
