Thought it could be good to have a single thread about the tallest Raleigh buildings. Using the (recently found) wikipedia list as a guide, the tallest over 200 feet are:
Definitely not correct. One Progress is clearly taller. Not 60 feet shorter. Most likely one is measuring from the bottom of an underground deck and one is measuring from the ground.
Once Omni and Highline are done, Raleigh will technically pass Sacramento and Richmond in the “CityGeek” ranking which uses the top 5 tallest.
Might actually be close to Orlando as well by that metric but obviously would need quite a few more above 300 ft to actually catch up to Orlando in reality.
Raleigh isn’t too far behind actually. I think I did the math a while back and we’d need 3-4 more to catch up. When I did that I considered downtown high-rises separate so I subtracted NH and the I-Drive area in the respective lists. Orlando has a ton of tall buildings that are 5+ miles outside of downtown and overall not very many in the 200-300 range despite having more 300-400 footers.
