Here’s my shot of it a little more zoomed in.
That looks like a city.
Much more prominent than I guess I was expecting, and those rooms will have some nice views.
Just wait till it starts getting ugly as they put up the exterior…
It’ll just blend in with the beige jailhouse and beige Justice Center on one side, and the grey-beige BB&T tower and beige Marriott on the other side. Raleigh’s Great Wall of Beige
So what’s interesting is that the windows and some details in the rendering don’t quite match up with the exterior being added. Also, the part that juts out above the entrance in the last pic is 3 stories tall in the rendering, but only 2 apparently in real life. I’m intrigued to see how this actually compares to the most recent rendering.
Edit:
So looking online I found a slightly different rendering that matches up better to what we’re seeing. It actually looks like 13 stories now, as opposed to 14 in the original rendering we had in this thread.

Just wish this wasn’t going to be YET ANOTHER brick and beige building
Just means those parking lots and vacant lots need to get developed to block it!
Seriously, though, looks like the new version lost some detailing and windows. Some light value engineering, alas.
On the bright side, that rooftop bar and restaurant will have a pretty solid view!
While the exterior design is lame. I’m excited to get another rooftop bar/restaurant. I’ve loved having The Willard added to DTR.
Big city angles. Right there.
Doesn’t look like they’ve added many more exterior pieces in the past week. Maybe they just wanted to get a few up quickly to make sure they hadn’t messed anything up like that parking lot at 400H
Gone are the days in Raleigh of developers caring about what the backside of their midrise buildings look like on partial block sites. We definitely need something blocking this view soon!
