2 lobbies, 2 different room designs. I’m sure some hotel exec thought it was innovative and exciting but it’s nothing to waste exclamation marks over
The last one I stayed at was 2 weeks ago in Atlanta. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza (don’t recommend) off North Avenue in Midtown(ish), and there was also a Staybridge Suites in the same building. The lobby for the Staybridge was below the lobby for the Crowne Plaza and it entered off the side street.
Nice photos! Do you happen to know the expected completion date for this project?
Fall of this year per TBJ article from today. I think they were predicting September back in November of '22 because me and the SO were looking at trying to get a hotel block for our August reception.
I also noticed in today’s TBJ article on the Tempo hotel that this will also be Raleigh’s highest roof top bar.
Raleigh has gotten four rooftop bars in the last few years, right? Residence Inn and Willard plus this one and Seaboard under construction.
Five if you count the Botanical Lounge on Glenwood.

Visit Raleigh made a list on the subject not too long ago back in 2022.
Last spring when we had monthly barhop at AO by Marriott, I stayed there at $300+15 for parking+20 for breakfast+ for wi-if if not a Marriott member. Next night I stayed at Fairfield by Marriott in Southport for $110 with free parking and breakfast. The rooms where exactly the same just AO had fancy decor. I go to hotels for convenience and a place to sleep, Only time I have stayed an high end was when trying to impress or someone else was paying for it. BTW the AO was a comp room so stayed there just to see what the fuss was about, not impressed.
We might be losing a crane downtown today, this street closure for mobile crane set up should be for removing the stationary crane.

So long, ChikFilA Hotel crane, we hardly knew ye
Any time we lose a crane its because we gained a building! I’m all for it! Let’s put more cranes up so we can lose them!
Oh yippee ( ); here comes the ugly.
For what its worth, that’s just the air barrier membrane applied to the exterior sheathing. There will be insulation over this and then whatever cladding/ veneer/ exterior finishes. (probably EIFS or stucco on this side?)
But less ugly than originally planned…
That doesn’t make me feel any better!!!
Part of me is sad to see it go, but as I stated before, it’s a milestone of our city growing up! Excited to have a future meet up on the rooftop bar!
My sadness can only be quenched with more cranes.
