I think this is an underrated development. I’m hoping it will really start to activate S/SE part of DTR.
Website is up. More of a placeholder, but cements that the address is 414 S. Person for this side.
Actually that second residential floor (fifth overall) is nearly completely framed today.
They have been working west to east so that Person Street edge in your photo was the last part to be framed.
Shame this isn’t at least 12 stories but at least there’s a 30-story tower coming to east DTR. Hopefully the Shaw University redevelopment plans go through and we start to see more tower projects in this area.
while no floorplans yet, the sizes noted seem decent.
Im so excited for black growth maybe I’ll be Raleigh’s greenwood.
Maybe you will be…
.
Yesterday. They were actually working on it today. At this rate I would not be surprised if they framed the top floor by Halloween.
Progress on the third residential floor (sixth floor overall). They were about at this point on the floor below on 10/13 and a small crew worked partial days over the weekend. So just under two weeks per floor.
I get the heebie jeebies looking at this given The Met fire of 2017.
My first thought was “look at that big pile of firewood”… But let’s not have a repeat of the Metropolitan fire.
This is the whole building correct? They aren’t going to come back and add the hotel portion, correct?
The hotel portion is separate I believe. It will face Blount
The area from the crane to Blount St. in his second picture will be the hotel location. I think they projected breaking ground Q1 of 23.
From way upstream in this thread copied below is the hotel site plan and rendering.
That Blount Street frontage portion of the property is currently serving as the construction entrance and staging area for The Acorn apartments.
Crane is positioned in the service area between the two projects and can presumably serve both projects being built in sequence.
Ahhhh yes, the other brick and beige hotel that will be going up. Will fit in nicely with the … 30 other brick and beige buildings in Raleigh
