Andaz (by Hyatt) would be nice given the loss of Kimpton and tends to be unique, locally inspired design property to property.
Soft brand chains like Luxury Collection (by Marriott) would fit in nicely here potentially too for completely distinct personality with the appeal of chain association that draws in business travelers that stick to their hotel programs.
That was my first thought just from being called townhouses but the development application shows 0 dwelling units so must just be office units or hotel units.
I know I’m like a eightieth person to say this, but the renderings look fantastic and all that, and it would awesome if this actually ended up looking anything like the renderings, but a lot of us will believe it when we see it in real life.

Yes. But it may be Legends 0 if they don’t get a move on with the build out.
Sure it’s behind schedule, but this is a high-quality build out. I don’t think this particular adaptive reuse project is appreciated enough. It’s a small project, but they’re maintaining the integrity of the original structure (very warehouse district), we’re getting the gridded sidewalk with street trees on this desolate stretch, and we’re losing an entire surface lot in favor of outdoor space. Wins across the board.
Agree. This is a repeat of the situation when Flex moved—it took twice as long as they thought given the amount of renovation that the old warehouse they bought required in order to open. But the end-product ended up being an amazingly well-done reuse. I think it’s a good bet that we’re seeing a similar process here.
I was staring at this project some more this week and ended up putting it up on the blog just now. One thing that the renderings tease to me are these two walkways on both sides of The Depot. I feel this could be quite amazing, having shops, restaurants, whatever, accessible on both sides of the Depot. It’s something I wish City Market could do one-day with lots of vibrancy and pedestrian traffic. If it’s a huge success here in The Depot than maybe it’ll inspire it on the other side of town.

That facade looks a lot better than their current location. It’s definitely an upgrade.
Idk, I’ll be annoyed if those big windows are just going to be covered 100% of the time. We have too much of that shit here.
But it’s light years better than those stainless steel panels in the “windows” of their current location. Those are hideous.
knowing what little I do about the place, I think those puppies are gonna be covered for the foreseeable future champ.
