My closing was pushed back 3 times. Welcome to Monarch realty world…
I did a walk thru yesterday. I can’t say specifically for your unit. Drywall was up. Looks like painting is mostly done. Cabinets are in. Bathrooms are underway. No appliances. Limited flooring so far. HVAC was working on the 2nd floor. It’s hard to gage how quickly they can get to 100 percent. So far move in dates have been changed 3 times. I hope these new dates will stick.
@Boltman, 2.5 years waiting, let’s talk about how many times things have been pushed back. LOL
And don’t get me started on Monarch. Nice people, but…
@svp, the original plan was for our ground floor units (101/102) to be the first completed and allowed for move in since we aren’t dependent on the rest of the building, elevators, etc. As construction continued we found they preferred to use our units for staging equipment and we went months and months and months without ANY progress at all. Now they’re focusing on getting our units caught up, which doesn’t make me feel very confident the quality will be all that. And we aren’t in town to check in regularly. Guess we’ll see!
Remember I get back in town on 11/16. Lol.
Wow. That’s crazy. After being there yesterday, it looks like they have more than a few weeks worth of work to do. I hope I am wrong about that. Not only the inside but also the outside work is coming along but not like I would have envisioned. They have siding to finish, deck areas to complete and the outside perimeter needs major grounds work. I too am worried they will hurry to get things finished. Not a great position for the builder to be in four months off the mark. Be sure and have a good home inspection prior to your punch list walk through date. With all the delays and subs, you never know what could get missed. Fingers crossed.
I’ve been through this construction process/waiting for new build condos 3 times. Each time the project was delayed by months. It’s how the game is played apparently.
How long has this thing been going up? The Chinese would have built 4 skyscrapers in that amount of time. What a joke lol.
Yeah but 20 people would’ve died doing it, and the building wouldn’t be safe to live in. I’m more frustrated with the government delays for stuff like commuter rail, two way street conversions, a 2 year planning process to put a tunnel under train tracks, etc.
FAIR enough. Just goes to show you that everything here moves at a snail’s pace.
Correction, Southern speed. Which reminds me, how is your mamma?
(and just so there is no misunderstanding amongst those who didn’t grow up here, that is a mandatory question that must be discussed in nearly conversation, especially if their is someone anxious and in a hurry in line before you and you haven’t seen the clerk since yesterday.)
She’s fine. I’m from Moscow Russia originally, but lived here over 20 years, so I consider myself local by now. It just sucks for people that invested money into this thing and have been waiting for years, almost criminal on the developer’s end.
One last request for a picture of the Fairweather from Harrington. We’ll be back in town as of Tuesday!
so close & yet so far away …
One free “like” to the first person that can guess what news we received today!
Actual closing date?
Free “like” for you! The “actual all dates” were changed. Actually, the punchlist date was moved, no new closing date as it could then land on Thanksgiving, which of course ain’t gonna happen.
Surprise, surprise.
Not going to be in town Tuesday, but still looking for a shot from Harrington that shows the ground level, if anyone happens to be walking by.
Thanks!
Went nearby today, thought about getting a shot, but the light turned and we didn’t get quite there. I’m sorry. We can try again soon.
