Can’t contain my excitement…cause there is none
While much of the daily business has moved to digital, branch traffic is still important to many. Reasons: businesses deposit cash and get change, official checks, people that haven’t adopted digital, etc. Branches are good advertisement as well.
I did a refi for house 1 1/2 years ago and never saw a real person other than my lawyer friend to sigh papers. But arrrrr should have waited another year and gotten a 25% lower rate - lol.
So refinance now…
To be honest, every time I pass banks in the afternoon there’s lines out the door especially Thursday’s / Friday’s.
I never go but I guess a lot of people do.
Speaking of which, I don’t even remember what’s in my safe deposit box.
I go to the bank when I need to get someone a certified check, that’s about it.
This may have been addressed here before, but I was reminded of it when I went to the Village District for dinner Saturday - why is nothing happening with the place that used to be Foster’s on Daniels? I only went there once years ago when it was some kind of southern restaurant; I remember they had a large selection of oysters. Anyway, it would have a good view of DTR at night.
Just curious.
Harris Teeter is the reason you see no progress or activity in that space
Barnes and Noble opening in the previous Pier 1 space.
Of all the chain retailers, a bookstore is the last one I’ll complain about. Very cool!
I never knew there was a Pier 1. Shows you how often I do shopping over there.
Does Harris Teeter want to move into that space?
Barnes & Noble should move their Cary location down the road 1 mile to the old Pier 1 space in Cary Crossroads, too. They’re currently across from Epic games owned defunct Cary Towne center.
It’s shocking to me that barnes and noble is even still in business.
Of all the retailers opening new stores, I’m shocked it’s Barnes and Noble. I very much miss the days of being able to walk into a big bookstore in any city and wander around for an hour or so. But I feel like those days have passed. Good for them, though!
A lot of people, like me love hardback books. All other forms are terrible.
Oh I agree, but Amazon all but buried the likes of Barnes and Noble. I am not against them being there, I’m just shocked that they are able to be there.
Count me in as pumped to have a Barnes & Noble in the Village. My only question is how does this space compare in size to other BN stores? I’ve never been inside the Pier 1 space but from the outside it looks small compared to what I’m used to seeing for BN.
Even if it is a small store, it’s a big win.
When there were capacity limits due to COVID, there would be people waiting outside to go into Quail Ridge Books. They have a really nice space on the corner with all the windows.
