NS?!! As sad as that is, I am actually more excited about a bank branch versus a drive thru heart attack in a bag chain!!
Hereâs the link regarding the Village District hotel.
The owners have filed a rezoning request for a seven- story hotel at 2016 Cameron St.
Saw that the nearby Cameron Park neighborhood is voting whether to change their name as well.
By a narrow vote, residents of Cameron Park voted to change their name. A list of replacement names will be voted on November 15.
Public meeting and rezoning request next week to build a 7 story hotel on the corner of Smallwood and Woodburn (old K&W cafeteria site)
I made the mistake of reading the nextdoor comments about this.
Although I find the random emails from other parts of the city I donât live in a little annoying, the amount of hilarious comments that come from simple stuff like this is why Iâve kept it.
It eventually evolves into an argument about dissolving the CACâs and how the Mayor extended her term just for this opportunity to âhelp her developer friendsâ, itâs unreal.
If enough of us show up and yell maybe theyâll bring back the K&W, which is definitely a normal place to eat and not super depressing
Shouldâve saw the reaction when they found out we were getting a McDonaldâs and Smithfields out here in Wendell Falls. And that was just the neighborhood FB group. I avoid NextDoor like the plague.
I just donât understand peopleâs way of thinking on things like this. Village DIstrict is a thriving place less than a mile from a huge downtown. Did they seriously think itâd stay the way it is. Wait til they find out that all the surface lots will be turned into apartments one day.
I am sure they were quite entertainingâŚhow many complaints over âshadowsâ? I guarantee that old city councilman, Russ Cobb is part of the complainers along with this ârecall Baldwinâ minions.
I always preferred Balintineâs, but K&W was a solid meal.
Then there was the Capital Room at Hudson Belk.
But yeah, Balentines was good.
These are both pretty attractive condo buildings! I only hope that at least one of them includes ground floor retail⌠would be reeeeal nice to extend the street activation from M. Night Shyamalanâs The Village District over to Hillsbro
Some sort of public notice sign popped up on Clark Street in front of an empty lot next to some fairly run down rentals; behind new WakeMed.
Thereâs a parking lot coming around there. Probably for that?
Sorry, this may have already been mentioned but I canât recall. I keep wondering whatâs going to replace the townhomes on Bellwood that have been sitting empty for over a year(?) now? Is it just a major reno or was the whole property getting redeveloped? Was anything announced publicly because I havenât seen any signs along the fencing
Oh, jk. Well, I hope they start soon because the area desperately needs more housing density. Iâm glad they opted for 6 stories.

11 townhomes. $11M+ dollars in new taxable real estate. Frankly, I can image that the wider townhouses could start north of $1.5M.
