You beat me to it! Did you see Helen’s show? (aka is that the main room)?
She’s a stumpy crane!
Yea, but she’s got a long reach!
This one gives me flashback anxiety back to physics class and moment arm calculations.
To follow up on this: saw Anthony Jeselnik’s first of 6 sold out shows at Goodnights this weekend, last night. It was PACKED and they really gotta figure out their AC because HOLY SHIT IT WAS SWELTERING HOT IN THERE. Anthony even made a joke about it, “this is a beautiful new club, once you guys get AC it’s really gonna be something” - that was after a joke that had me DYING, when he said “My team told me ‘Anthony, 20 years doing comedy is an accomplishment, you should pick some of your favorite clubs in your favorite cities and perform for them.’ I said NO WAY - I want to go to Raleigh.”
But then he did compliment the venue before commenting on the heat. I mean y’all I was in a tank top and track pants and I was DRIPPING sweat hahahahaha. Other than that, it was nice to return to a legit comedy club in my city. I am hoping they put more signage up above the doors - it’s oddly… not super apparent that it’s a comedy club until you go through the doors and see the neon sign inside. I imagine they’re still waiting on stuff (they still don’t have all the signed photos of comics that have performed there over the years up, which are still over at the K&W pop-up club). I’m hoping they get some kind of “TONIGHT: [comic’s name], NEXT WEEK: [etc]” sign up outside!!
Thanks for sharing some of that evening’s vibe with us! I really appreciate it.
I think that it’s going to take time for the club to “patina” and get its soul back. It will happen but it will likely take longer than getting the AC working!
More pictures of the main room! It was chilly tonight and Anthony was out sick. Blair Socci headlined instead. Anyway, the room is bigger than OG Goodnight’s.
The new condos on enterprise st. were just listed. The cheapest being $500k for 850 square feet is stiff.

BEAUTIFUL building though! Finally a new residential building that doesn’t look like a total cheap piece of s**t!
Agreed, though the lime green tower in the middle seems gratuitous.
No way! I’ll take any actual color I can get in this damn city of beige, grey, brown, and … beige.
All you’ve done is made me more upset by how many cool 100 year old buildings Raleigh has torn down. I’d be more than happy with all the beige/grey HISTORIC buildings Raleigh had. You know damn well I’m talking about the beige/brown/grey STUCCO 5-over-1 BS…
Just gonna drop this article in here… again.
My goodness, talk about congestion. And the shadows! Won’t someone think of the biscuits?
From their branding film on the glass, they clearly don’t give a cluck.
