I had to scroll down to the renderings, but I don’t see any turquoise accent panels!! How disappointing…

Have you been to Lil Bull ? Just curious - concept sounds cool / always enjoyed Cortez offering…

Except all seafoam green exterior, with little white rectangles arbitrarily on some parts

This is from Kane’s website. Not noticing any seafoam details, but they may be hidden.

Went last night! It was really great, and I’m very much :grumpy_cat: when it comes to restaurants. Best new addition to the Triangle food scene in a long time imo.

That’s good to hear! Still haven’t managed to make it to Cortez for some reason, but I’m excited to try this place. And Cortez for that matter

The tree house extension looks pretty interesting

Only if it’s painted seafoam green.

At this point, let’s just paint the whole dang building seafoam green. It couldn’t get any uglier, and at least it would be consistent.

Nooo! I need my eyes!

I think what bothers me most about the seafoam is the section on the east side. The seams of the panels are painted the same color but stick out, and it just looks unfinished to me. The little air conditioner rectangles are tacky as hell but don’t bother me as much.

One thing that the latest “backside” photo didn’t capture is the wood paneling inside the fancy corner balconies. I noticed it this morning but didn’t get a photo. Fancy balconies being fancy, or something.

Just wait until the seafoam fades in a few years. Then it’s going to be REALLY “pretty”.

Here is the view from Dupont Circle. It looks like two different boxes to me. One that is just ok and one that is just ugly. No winner for design on this one, Kane.

Hot, fresh seafoam for your viewing… pleasure?
(Sorry for the cinematic focus; a dramatic consequence of one-handed photo snapping and sweat in my eyes.)

Definitely not winning any design awards. This is hideous!

I think there was a attempt to fit as many different examples of every element as possible into this building. There are several different kinds of balconies, who knows how many different types of siding materials, and a slew of different window styles.

Um it’s called diversity and it’s what people say downtown needs, right?

Oh wait, was that supposed to be diversity in people?
