West End - Platform, Oldham & Worth, Old Train Station

They are just bringing the :seafoam_green: closer so it’s easier to see when you arrive by train.

I can never tell if y’all are serious so here’s a reminder of what this will look like. As stated previously when everyone freaked out about the stark white side of phase one, it was always going to be covered (from most viewing angles) by phase two. Glad we’re all seeing this come to fruition now.

Oh and I guess this makes phase two out of two. Someone mentioned that phased projects never get fully built out.

Kane’s one of the rare ones that fulfills his multi phase development visions, he also has some serious capital to prove out the concept of “build it and they will come”

Still waiting for that Smoky Hollow Phase 3 tho

Knowing Kane, he’ll build his 40 story apartments in North Hills and build a nice 7 story apartment downtown at this site!

Probably waiting to see what happens with the West Peace rezoning. If approved, we will probably see movement on Phase 3 and the Zimmer project.

Downtown residents close to this area are willing to sue developers over shadows, I can see why that’s a trend.

Well they can sue and they can lose their money. Developers aren’t scared of that lmao.

He has the Phase 3 lot rezoned already. He can build to 40-stories by right now.

I really thought we would see Kane start on the phase 3 lot by now. I wonder if they’re waiting for this West End development to wrap up first.

Could also be waiting for the park project to start/have a set finish date. I’m sure they can market the apartments at a higher rent with a brand new park across the street.

I’m sure it’s at least 60% driven by the availability of debt and capital coupled with some combination of other market and site-specific issues (the park, rental rates, etc…). The fact that they have temporary tenants in there tells me that SH3 is further down on Kane’s to-do list.

The larger narrative is that developers have been waiting for interest rates to come down but some are just biting the bullet and plowing on. I’d guess that’s part of why we just saw major movement on Creamery and Nash Square.

I assumed he wanted to mix in office to maximize the floor count and value, and the office market isn’t there yet. Plus the financial uncertainty everyone is facing.

I’m (not) sorry but these people are beyond stupid, entitled, whiny little b******. You live in the state capital of one of the fastest growing and the current 9th most populous state in the country. Not some podunk town in the middle of nowhere.

If you don’t like it, please sell your house (in which the value has certainly increased dramatically due to all of the growth you’re actively trying to stop) and leave.

P.s. this is not with respect to those that oppose development for fear of being priced out of their homes. That’s a separate issue.

Yeahhhhhhhh these should’ve been 10 to 20-story buildings. What a shame this is all we ended up with in these spots.

Awesome photos :star_struck:

Thank you so very much :man_bowing:

The first two pictures “remind” me of a prison :exploding_head:

Same thing I’m thinking looking at these shots. It’s really a shame. Of course significant improvement from the previous usage, but you only get this opportunity to create meaningful density every couple of generations and this ship has sailed. It’s still a win, just with a little disappointment.

Now let’s get that West St tunnel under the tracks ASAP!

A little :bird: told me they’re waiting for you to move back before they start.
