I like this idea. It must be really tough for an inexpensive diner to make the numbers work in downtown these days.
From the article:
After dinner, at roughly 11pm, Prospects begins its late-night menu, offering classic diner foods, like hamburgers or mac-and-cheese, until 3am. That service will start at a later date, Ricci said.
I think this is a great idea and location for this concept with Glenwood South late night population but it might be fatally flawed given how hard it is for a pedestrian to make it from GS to that part of West St. I know they are fixing that but unclear how many years away that truly is
I walked up after a Cortez happy hour last week and, yeah - itâs (still) not exactly a comforting walk without sidewalks in the dark up West.
Every seat at the Prospects bar was full around 6:45 on a Wed nite and only two empties along the wall so ended up pivoting back to Madre for a drink and snack. Iâd envision the early evening stuff similar to Madre, which kinda reminded me of the global new american kinda thing Stanbury does.
Any way, canât complete a review of Prospects (* still looking forward to checking out PhĂ´ck a Duck and a cocktail now that they have their liquor license) but can say the Calabrian Chili Chicken at Madre is tasty! Once the Devereux opens next door for some overflow space, I could see late night here being quite nice.
