William Peace and Seaboard Station

Well, is it landmarked?

Doesn’t appear to be: https://raleighhistoric.org/

Personally I wish they would, it’s worthy of it architecturally and certainly historically as the namesake of the district.

Then it’s likely the city won’t be giving them a hard time. Must build luxury apartments with shitty facades at all costs.

Lots of money to be saved on plants from a long drive. I was blown away by how many plants I got for like $65 at http://www.candjnurserync.com/

The biggest loss in regards to Logan’s is that DTR will no longer have this type of business as a matter of convenience. And of course “most” people can drive a distance and get a better price but again, as with most businesses it is just as much about convenience! But that is a personal loss to me, I am sure that the owners of Logan’s are very happy indeed! :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face:

Raleigh newbie here. Curious what used to be in the retail space next to O2 Fitness? I was walking by yesterday and noticed quite a few “Triangle’s Best” stickers from Indyweek on the vacant storefront.

The one @Seaboard? If so, that may have been Seaboard Wine.

Slightly off topic here I suppose, but are they definitely doing Block C before the Block A hotel at Seaboard?

Unless something changes yes. Apartments are more or less a sure thing and hotels are in the can

I was hoping the HGI project was a sign of them popping back, if only because the hotel is the most visible aspect of that development from outside Seaboard. Still, Block C is good, I ain’t looking that gift horse in the mouth.

The economics of building a new hotel are complicated (and interesting!) but I think the HGI developer is an owner/operator whereas Hoffman is just a developer that would need to engage a separate hotelier (maybe one they have under contract but there’s still more moving pieces).

Hotels will probably be back in the medium term, although I don’t think business travel will ever fully rebound. Then again if I knew it all I’d be making more money.
