Genuinely CANNOT WAIT for the Logan’s lot towers to be built and hide that hideous exposed deck from view. It sticks out horribly from across Capital.

You’ll unfortunately get more decks in the development that lands on top of Logan’s. I think there will be a big one somewhat behind the self storage place just north of the Cotton Mill.

Oh, I know that! But I’d hope that deck might be more integrated into that tower, or perhaps at LEAST have some sort of screening. That, and if it is behind the self storage and/or Cotton Mill condo building, it will at least be somewhat hidden behind.

I believe the next phases are heading down Halifax street, a 5 over 2 where the one-story brick building on Halifax sits, a renovation to the O2/Ace/Peace China building, and a tower in the back (north) parking lot.

I kind of forgot there’s supposed to be more stuff but there. Does anyone have a basic site map of the rest of the buildings planned?

This is all I’ve seen so far. I don’t think they have anything specific planned for block E yet, not really sure what’s up with Block F either. This shows the existing building footprint, but the building is 10k sq ft today and this shows bumping it up to 40k.

Last I saw, the plan for E and F are something in the 5 over 2 range.

This reminds me of a classic tune from my youth about a milkshake and a yard. I hope the boys all get brought to this yard just as frequently.

Looks like Nichiha composite panels, or something similar

I was in the Tampa/St. Pete area recently and the one down there in St. Pete was delicious!

Having toured Optimist Hall in Charlotte, it’s kind of shame that Cotton Mill and/or Pilot Mill didn’t take the same direction.

If you took the same approach to Cotton Mill as they did to Optimist Hall to me it seems it would have easily been downtown Raleigh’s first real third place and top things to do. Especially if you can redevelop the ugly strip mall between it and Peace Street with a open plaza design that leads to Cotton Mills.

Don’t we have some people here that live there?

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish. Do you want everyone to sell their condos so that it can be converted to another use?
I do agree that a redevelopment of the small strip center that faces Peace would improve the integration of The Cotton Mill into the greater Seaboard neighborhood, but the railroad, Peace Street, and Capital Blvd are formidable barriers to it feeling truly connected.
I googled Optimist Hall and it feels a lot more like MSFH than it does The Cotton Mill or Pilot Mill.

I can’t do crap. I’m not a developer. Just a shame this historic asset is exclusively private property that is generally off-limits to the general public–thus not an incubator of culture in Raleigh.
