Oh that’s a very interesting location. I love it.
Common Market would be a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. I’m excited about this!
Should be a solid addition to Seaboard. Common Market (and its main local competitor, Rhino Market) are really nice to have scattered around the urban neighborhoods here…not a full grocery store or restaurant/bar, but the food is made to order and there are plenty of beverages and other things. Nicer than a gas station convenience store but still reasonably priced.
Very cool. I always thought it was an ideal fit for the rotating efforts at Brookside Market
27,000 sq ft is huge. I wonder where in the development it’s going to be placed?
Probably at the bottom…
Are you sre??? Who wouldn’t want to live underneath that business…
Pulled this off their website. Raleigh magazine says it’ll be on the bottom of the Miles building. Maybe that big corner one?
From Triangle Food Blog:
Pins is a unique twist on a night out by bringing old-school entertainment to life featuring duckpin bowling, pinball, classic arcade games, ping pong, patio pong and more. Guests will also be able to indulge in nostalgic beverages with an extensive drink menu offering cocktails, craft beers, mocktails and kid-friendly sips. Boasting 27,0000-square-feet, it will be located on the ground floor of The Miles at 10 W. Franklin Street. This will be their third location in North Carolina.
I don’t know what a nostalgic mocktail is… like a Shirley Temple? Lol
Don’t forget the Roy Rogers!
Choccy milk, baybeeee
A little something for everyone, or put another way, how to keep your kids off the street!
What exactly is duckpin bowling?
Instead of sturdy pins and heavy balls, duckpin bowling uses lightweight, shorter pins (on strings) and palm-sized balls (with no finger holes) that are trickier to handle and control . Even the lane is shorter than a regular bowling alley! You’ll need to be accurate as your ball curves its way towards those tiny pins.
Thanks. That sounds interesting. I’ll have to try it.
Jaguar Bolera has a few lanes of duckpin bowling. I checked it out a couple of weekends ago and had a great time. Definitely planning to go back
Honestly that sounds more fun than regular bowling to me - it’s basically skee-ball with pins you’re aiming for instead of holes!
It’s similar to candle pin bowling that was (and still kind of is) popular in Massachusetts. When I lived there, people called normal bowling “big ball bowling” and complained how it wasn’t challenging except for their arm and fingers hurting.
This should be awesome for the area, Pins is a lot of fun. At least here in Charlotte, it is one of the few establishments that has managed to find a near-perfect balance between family fun during the day, and engaging nightlife for 20-somethings at night. If you’re able to temper your alcohol consumption, it’s pretty reasonably-priced for what it offers…free classic arcade games, free skeeball, ~$1 ping pong and foosball, etc.
