William Peace and Seaboard Station

Hobbit hole descriptors notwithstanding, these guys have a good background and this could be a lil jewel over there in Seaboardville…

I have nothing against hobbit holes. I meant it as a favorable comparison.

Maybe if they had called it Boltman instead of Boatman, though, they could’ve lured a certain :nut_and_bolt: out of idyllic Chatham County.

“Promises a vibey space”

The 22-year-old intern who wrote this TOTALLY needs a raise.

“It’s gonna be such a vibey space”

“OOooOOOoo, what kind of vibes we talkin’?”

“You know, VIBES. The vibey vibes, the kinda vibes that vibe… vibey.”

Any updates on Pins Mechanical? I haven’t seen any work being done in Seaboard that seems to indicate there’s been any movement on this.

I checked the press releases again last week and they all said that it’ll be opening this December (2025). I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t planning to start construction until next month or so.

I can’t stand all this gen z media fake language crap. Vibey, king, luxuriate, elevated, peep this, etc.
Someone get me a cane and a rocking chair, I’m officially a grumpy old man

@Drew I think you’ve been deceived. In my experience, the person who typed that is more than likely closer to your age and is just trying too hard to cater to younger people. I’ve never heard anyone younger than 30 use the words “bevs” or “vibey” before.

I have kids in middle school and they definitely say “vibes” a lot, in isolation, without specifying what kind of vibes- but I’ve never heard any of them say “vibey”

Having had a little experience with urban forestry at the city, there is no bending the rules. The street typology dictates the tree requirements and spacing, all else be damned

You would think the Americans with Disabilities Act would supercede that though…

Too woke. That’ll be on the chopping block next. Good luck, disabled people!

(((this is complete sarcasm for those who are aghast)))

I forgot that was coming - I literally just the other day was walking my gf to her car from Neptunes and looked into that abandoned ground-floor office space between Death & Taxes and the Professional Building and said “they should put duckpin bowling here!”

Just tried it for the first time a few months ago up in Wake Forest and had a blast - it’s so much more fun than traditional bowling, it basically reminded me of Skee-Ball but with targets to hit rather than holes to aim for.

Not sure if you knew this, but Jaguar Bolera in Iron Works has duckpin bowling, too. Went there for my birthday last year, had a great time.

You say it’s a joke, but at this rate it may be next on the “outrage machine” list.
Then we can tee up eliminating seat belt mandates and no smoking bans in grocery stores.

Been meaning to check that place out, I’ve only snooped through the windows haha

Definitely worth a visit!

Honestly, I kind of like the term vibing.

Each generation has its own expressions. There are certainly plenty of millennial expressions that I initially rolled my eyes for, but I got over it.

“Adulting”, “Literally” & “Bae” come to mind.
