That axis down Salisbury is fantastic. Makes it feel connected to downtown over the government moat.
Looks perfect for the second leg of the gondola…
When is Omakase by Kai supposed to open?
Was this signage up when we were here for the meetup Thursday?
I completely forgot about this place! I’m excited
We knew spring, but Logan’s shared that they’re going to be moved over to their new location by the Farmers Market in March.
I hope that this move, along with the increasing density of residents along the southern edge of Lake Wheeler, serves to foster the Farmers Market to further intensify and diversify its offering with more makers as well as more food / hospitality offerings. We might never have something like Reading Terminal Market (and one might argue it’s not centrally located, thus unable to truly serve that function) but there’s so much more that could be done with the space that exists here.
God, DiNic’s there is so good. It’s officially on our lunch stop list whenever we are doing the northeast drive.
Thank you for the pictures!
Nice, but sorry, too much wood!
That’s not what she said.
I’m sure it’s been talked about at some point, but this giant power pole in the middle of the sidewalk is quite unfortunate.
Wish that the city could work with the power companies to paint all of these poles around the DTR area. I’m thinking of an artistic direction. Although, a visual would be funny as hell
This idea could help start to give Raleigh an identity all its own
Lol remind me to share a pic of the sidewalk outside the GeerHouse apartments in Durham…
I just think they should paint the pole to match the others. It’s a high voltage line so not the biggest deal to me since they’ll never be buried. I get upset when we approve developments that don’t require under-grounding the low voltage lines. Sometimes it’s required, other times it’s not, and I hate those inconsistencies.
Bigger issue here is the pole in the middle of the road at the intersection with cones around it. Actually 2 poles in the middle of the road. As far as I’m concerned, the whole project is unfinished until that’s done. And yes I’m assuming it will be addressed. There is no way they can leave those poles in the street as-is.
There are these things called pruning shears. They are quite the invention!
That said, this particular tree has an unfortunate context. Too bad that there wasn’t a site plan or anything that could have identified and averted a cluster of things happening at one location.
