William Peace and Seaboard Station

They can’t house the student population on campus. Not knowing the price point its hard to say if these will appeal to students but I don’t get the feeling they will be designed as student suites.

Maybe not, but my man Leo sure throwing some big shade!!

Damn, and they start at $1,165 for the 550-sqft. studio. My college apartment (well it was a 4br+2ba split into 4 suites really) was $289/mo including water, and that was only in 2012. It was the cheapest rent I could find though, very old, run-down, kind of rancid, and in a bad neighborhood (and in a meh city too, not much going on in Tallahassee). Definitely jealous of the digs for a college student, although I bet it’s getting harder and harder to find affordable places to live for college students in growing sun-belt cities. Not that a college student living in the Lincoln is feeling the squeeze much, but just in general I mean. There’s probably nearly no ~$325ish ($289 adjusted for inflation) suites available for NC State students, but I lived in a whole complex of them.

Yes, so Big Daddy’s Burger :hamburger: Bar will now have a shaded patio until they open at 11:30AM.

Enough to reach the city council, apparently.

More on that master plan:

Yep the collage suite setup apartments are outrageous. Saw where ones around ASU (not Arizona) are asking $800 a room in 4 br apartments. suites!!:exploding_head:

I can’t believe that the city placed its DX12 zoning on top of the one building that won’t get redeveloped into something taller: The Cotton Mill. They drop back to 7 floors where actual redevelopment is possible. Sheesh…

What do you mean by material specs? Just looking at that image, it’s aluminum framed windows, brick, metal paneling on the top floor. Should look nice. No clue on colors.

You guys should read all the NIMBY comments on Nextdoor about Seaboard, Kane 40 story at Peace, etc. Mind boggling.

Too much negativity out there and besides I would have to increase my blood pressure medicine.:blush:

And misinformation. I had to increase my meds this morning :pill:.

Nextdoor is a cesspool of NIMBY’s and ‘neighborhood watch’ type people who will post everytime some black person in a hoodie walks through their neighborhood. Or a random white van.

I can attest to the truth in that statement! My senior/widowed mother is kept in a constant state of fear by what she reads on Nextdoor, and she lives in a very safe and desirable neighborhood.

Lol this is my neighborhood’s nextdoor experience too. Except there’s also panic over dog poop. Thankfully my neighborhood is an unimaginable 10 minute drive from downtown, so no one is aware it exists to complain about.

You mean an “urban youth”

The thought of navigating all those confusing roads and parking in parking deck just to go grocery shopping is giving me the vapors.

I remember a time before all the northerners moved here where I could ride my horse down to the 5 and Dime and everyone would stop and wave to me along the way.

ha, Raleigh folks didn’t take to those country-style mannerisms. Still, did grow up in R’wood walking or biking to the grocery store. Better then that, it was an A&P!!
