301 Hillsborough / Raleigh Crossing

So it’s fine if construction workers get sick and die as long as they don’t transmit to the rest of the population. Got it.

Keep in mind construction cannot social distance while working. Cannot wash hands. Cannot maintain a clean and sanitized working environment. Hopefully construction workers don’t shop at the same grocery store as you.

This is true, but not enough to keep an entire industry open. There has to be a way where things can be closed down based on need. How many homeless/evicted are staying at the downtown Marriott? Why is an empty hotel essential? I bet 4 of 5 hotels/motels could be shutdown for a few weeks.

But I’m of the opinion that nearly everything should be shut down for 3 weeks. Near 100% lockdown, let it run it’s course in isolation and go back to normal sooner than later.

If you feel that strongly about construction, I’m sure you have quite the rant on takeout restaurants on every corner. At least construction sites are closed off only to people that are employed there. Literally anyone can go up to a takeout restaurant and touch a surface that then anyone else might come and touch. Also, if 1 chef/cook at a takeout only restaurant gets the virus… Boom. Typhoid Mary

I’m not saying I agree with them remaining open I agree with you a nation wide full lockdown would be the best way to stop this. I’m simply saying that likely the reasoning behind allowing them to operate likely has less to do with the on time delivery of projects and more with pay.

This back and forth should probably be over on the COVID-19 temp thread. Just sayin’.

Or probably to direct messaging. Actually some people don’t realize you can send private messages to each. Want to debate? Go for it privately.

Construction is deemed essential. Take it out on your state and health leaders, not each other please. Let’s bring it back on topic.

So what happens in 3 weeks? Everyone comes out and the cases spike again?

Roughly a floor per 10 days, I really like the curve of the building when driving down Dawson st. it will have a really nice curb and street presence once finished.

Thank you for sharing these pictures! :+1:
And yes, I am truly jealous that you’re able to get to DTR and I am not…very sad
But this is what is meant as living vicariously through someone else? Lol :joy:

I can see the curve already but it’s hard to capture in a photo at this point.

Right now I am still having to come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays and working from home the other days. But I don’t mind it as hardly anybody is here on my floor and it is getting really boring at my house nowadays…

Probably a concrete pumper.

It looks too close to the other crane to be another one, but there is probably going to be another at the other end of the lot once the next phases get going.
