That’s the real answer, but it’s still shocking how much shorter this will appear, even though it’s just 2.5 blocks further away. If one looks at the crane for the project, this building will top out below that. It’s going to look rather insignificant from that angle.
Our husky boy is to wide for his height!
Omg @John, it’s taller than the Wells Fargo building!
…and much, much fatter too!
Looks as tall as Holiday Inn from this angle. Given distant and angle of pic I would say it’s really as tall now and still a few floors to go.!!
I took photos like these just an hour ago as I was walking home from my trip up to the top of Dix Hill.
I was at the St. Albans stoplight on Wake Forest Rd. yesterday, heading south. From that vantage point, it’s clear that 301 is currently at the height of the Holiday Inn because the two buildings visually fuzed as seen from there.
It’s definitely starting to have a major impact on the skyline from almost all angles! I’ve noticed it driving around the city over the past week from nearly any direction. And still a few floors to go (anyone have a solid estimate on how many more, exactly, from these updated photos?)
I know you can really see it as you come into downtown on Capital. The skyline is really going to look very different in the next few years.
They are pouring the 7th floor of office above the garage. The garage was…8 levels? So they are on 15 of 18 (skipping the 13th)?
- too lazy to look up facts *
Was looking at the rendering posted back on June 11, looks like six full floors of office, which is 177 ft. So, not sure but think they still have about 90 ft and six floors left.
Yeah for some reason I feel like they’ve still got a ways to go. If 250’ is the height, they’re probably only around 200’ right now, because it’s barely edging out the hotel, which we’ve established as 190’ or so even though it’s listed as higher.
