301 Hillsborough / Raleigh Crossing

TLDR:

Lot is going to sit empty for years.

Oh, no doubt hahahaha

Started on the 6th floor of the office part of the project. Eyeball test looks to be about the same height as the hotel now.

Great pictures, thank you! :hugs: :hugs:

Looks like about 3 floors left to go… :star_struck:

Should actually be 5 more floors plus a 1-2 floor tall parapet crown on the northeast corner

I know it’s been said multiple times, but that is a disturbing amount of premium space dedicated to parking cars. Multiple + 1.

Truth…but, it’s location is going to pretty much guarantee the deck stays functionally profitable…and thus, its prominence…

That and, at very least, they’re going a PNC Tower route and actually cladding a majority of this deck in the same glass as the rest of the building, thus hiding it SO MUCH BETTER than 99% of Raleigh’s other parking pedestals.

EDIT: @elevatoroperator has corrected me. It’s garbage! Nevermind my enthusiasm!

They’re only glazing the corner.

The rest appears to be metal and concrete.

And they sure did improve on the look of the Holiday Inn…Lol

I rescind my enthusiasm. Another garbage parking pedestal strikes again!

From the one small section that is currently up on the exterior it looks like screening to me.

Clearly there is a construction cam for 301 Hillsborough… Who can find it?

This bad boy is starting to change up my east Raleigh skyline view. This is from east Hargett.

doesn’t look so husky from this angle.

If/When 121 Fayetteville gets built, that whole block will be highrises from this angle.

If Wells Fargo is 400 ft, and 301H is supposed to be 250 ft., how come 301H feels so short? I mean, they are only a few blocks apart, and situated at similar elevations. If the numbers are to be believed, 301H should be 62.5% as tall as Wells. It just isn’t feeling that way at all from this shot. I suppose that the 2.5 block difference in distance makes a huge impact?

Because it’s not even close to complete yet, and a good portion of both buildings is obscured from this angle. 🤷

also the issue of perspective, viewing angle, and distortion from camera and zoom.
