501 Hillsborough

Not at all… Working with a few developers and they are doing this in DC, Miami, Austin, Tampa, DFW, and Denver.

I hear Highwoods may be interested

I was just about to reply to @atl_transplant with a similar comment like, “have you heard of Highwoods, HQ’d here in Downtown Raleigh”?

Instead I want a Highwoods reaction icon thingy like we have for grumps like @GucciLittlePig :grumpy_cat:, high achievers like @Yimbyforlife :gucci: and @Boltman with his own personal :nut_and_bolt:.

I think we can just use their logo from https://www.highwoods.com/
image

which then got me thinking based on their website that has this nice picture of the PNC tower

but should probably instead be:

sorry. Off topic.

We’re in the *shitty gravel parking lot business

FTFY

Makes sense. Have not thought of that scenario. Might as well smart move.

Would’ve been a smarter move if they did it a few months ago with the previous city council

HA a 7syoty wood frame apartment building that you want to make it go away. Ask Meto in Raleigh or Edgewater in NJ how to make it vanish in one night.

Here’s an article that basically reads like someone read this thread and summed it up. @dtraleigh you should look into getting money from TBJ for being a source of their information. :joy:

In case anyone is around and wants to participate in encouraging density and smart development, and maybe meet some NIMBYs in the process, it seems this neighborhood meeting is tonight, according to RALToday, according to TBJ.

Dalian Development, a Washington, DC developer, is looking to rezone lots by Morgan Street Food Hall to allow for a 40-story mixed-use development . Currently zoned with a 12-story limit, a neighborhood meeting is scheduled for today from 6 to 7 p.m.at the Pullen Park Community Center.

40 stories would do wonders here. I can’t make it tonight but to anyone who shows up, I will forever appreciate you.

For the life of me, I cannot imagine a valid argument against 40 stories in this location.

Traffic, shadows, God’s wrath, I’m sure there’s a ton. Oh wait, you said valid arguments…

I propose DXM-40 for this location.
(downtown mixed-use minimum 40 stories)

Its should be far enough from Boylan Heights and the one crazy guy at PNC Tower this time

plus those groups are but a “shadow” of their former selves.

Official rezoning to 40 floors submitted to the city by Dalian Development. Seems like this should be smooth sailing for approval.

Interesting…have they built anything close to this scale ?

Not at that height, but yes at a pretty sizeable scale with Dalian on the Park in Philly
