I’ve been obsessively watching the steel for 2 Hillsborough go up for the past few days. Do we know if the utility poles and lines will be buried along Boylan? Watching the webcam, they seem to really stand out to me, IMO it would make the area feel more urban if those lines were all underground. I think this would make the area a lot more attractive to the pedestrian experience.

Man if you blink, they’ll have added another 2 levels.

Space to store a lot of steel I believe is the only thing slowing them down

It’s like the new office buildings being built Downtown are getting skinnier each year

No skinnier than the supertalls going up on NYC’s Billionaire’s Row - Central Park South…

They just appear skinny 'cuase they’re 812 stories tall.

But they really are skinny, despite their endless floor counts. I’d love to see some skinny towers of full floor/half floor condos in downtown Raleigh. Imagine having a sky home with either 180 or 360 degree views!!!

“Imagine” - yeah, that’s about all I can afford to do with that proposition :joy:

That’s REALLY what Raleigh needs is a cool funky building like that.
I always have thought of Ral-town as a geeky scienc-ey kind of place (that’s what drew me to the area a couple of decades ago).
Some weird buildings like that would be great!

I would hate it if those kind of building were ever built in Raleigh.

This building is nothing other than atrocious. I like the green life though.

:man_shrugging: I think it would be the best building downtown lol. Nothing close to this level of design rigor currently.

I’m with you on this one! We need to shake up the design of our core to distinguish it.

Aesthetic are obviously subjective. I love both of those renderings, especially 213 S Harrington. Like @elevatoroperator, I would probably think it was the best building in downtown if it went up.

I usually just peruse this site and whatever threads are at the top, but I sometimes search for the thread on that building to be sure I haven’t missed any news (and come away sad when there are no updates).

I would probably like it more if it took up an entire block. That being said, that would not work here due to the historical buildings. Another vacant parking lot (one of the many by the Pope house/Lincoln Theater) would be a perfect spot for a building of this type taking up a large piece of a block.
