Was passing through DT yesterday and saw this in one of the Bloc83 parking deck retail spots that have been empty forever. It was the retail space on the right (closer to NC state) to be exact. the other space is still vacant. Volofit is a dynamic group fitness studio (their words). apparently they have locations in Pittsburgh and Oakland also. not my thing, glad to see more retail coming online in the area though.

The lack of retail there has been confusing to me (unless the landlord is just asking for rents that people aren’t willing to pay) - office has leased up pretty well there and there’s residential foot traffic with it being situated between Glenwood South and the Warehouse District.
I heard that a Mexican restaurant was supposed to go on the backside of one of the buildings across from Incendiary, but that never materialized. Incendiary did just recently get approval to allow guests to take their drinks out in the Bloc83 courtyard, which will be nice as a defacto expansion of space for them. Big Incendiary fan.
