Just a little light reading
A friend of mine just found the info. on page 150 . I am wrong about the company Target HQâs ! The plan does mean to go after different company HQâs . My fault !
Where? Over the past 3 years Iâve done so many upfits in that building, dozens probably. Find it hard to believe there is available space there for a 300 employee outfit.
I am looking everywhere and maybe not searching the correct terms, but wasnât there a calcultion on here of how much office space downtown is currently either under construction or on the books as proposed?
this just popped up on Triangle Business Journal
" A startup with bold ambitions, big backers and an Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) pedigree is looking for a âmarquisâ headquarters location in Raleigh as it doubles down on artificial intelligence
Igor Jablokov), CEO of Raleighâs Pryon, doesnât mince words about his bold vision for his new startupâs future"
âIn 2011, Jablokov led a tiny startup called Yap in Charlotte, North Carolina, which sold a technology to Amazon â a piece of AI that would, eventually, be called Alexaâ
âItâs currently evaluating its options for at least 10,000-square-feet of space, Jablokov says, noting North Hills, downtown Raleigh and Research Triangle Park as possibilities. The goal is to grow to about 40 to 50 people in a year, with about half in Raleigh.â
My vote/opinion is that they will choose NHâs
I hope he eventually succeeds with it, but how do you have a marquee headquarters with a goal of 20-25 employees?
Has Advanced Auto Parts settled on a location?
Besides being strong in IT based tech, the region also is a biotech and pharma hotbed. Unfortunately this area is not well suited for downtown development. But, Iâd like to see one larger company make the first move and invest in the downtown.
I thought Advance was just going to outfit their current East Raleigh location?
The obvious big takeaway there is RTPâŚ
Itâs hard to think of companies that truly look for a downtown location. And as far a Raleigh is concerned, so far anyway, itâs tech firmsâŚbut it would be nice to expand on that an of course in a big wayâŚ
Whatâs up with First Citizens & their lack of support of DTR, A small presence DTR, but all of their HQ, Operations are NH, or S Raleigh. BBT-Suntrust are merging & moving to DTCharlotte. Homegrown First Citizens âburbs.
Reading the article on TBJ, seems that the 40 to 50 is just for first year and expect to grow quickly from there.
âŚdonât get me started on FCBâŚ
When I have more time, I will give you a very large piece of my mind or about 10 million 10 thousand and 10 centsâŚlol
Sorry, another crazy day!

is there a forum for road construction? I was by the Amazon distribution center the other day, itâs on a junky one lane road. How on earth is it going to survive all that traffic?
I believe all that Jones Sausage Road/I-40 area is in Garner.
BBT-Suntrust has been renamed Truist & will take 561,000 sq ft in the Hearst Tower in DTCharlotte. FCB should invest in its hometown downtown. What other bank has itâs HQ in the âburbs?
The road passing by the Amazon plant in Garner is being widened to accommodate the increased traffic, but Iâm not sure of the extent of the work.
While building the skyline is certainly not the most important reason for relocating FCBâs headquarters, it would help them build a stronger identity in the area if they have their name prominently displayed on a large building where people can see it.
what an awful name. But great point about FCB.
I agree Truist is a really bad name. I may have to move my accounts lol.
WTF is Truist? Who came up with that.
I may need to change from BB&T as well.
