The sunflowers are back in full force! Think they will only last for another week or two.

I love the addition of the wildflowers in the foreground, I know the bees there are having a ball this year :honeybee::honey_pot:

Oh, I’ll head out tomorrow to see on my walk! Thanks for the reminder!

Just adding a note, I have seen these a few times now in person, And I really like this. Looks way better in person, then in pictures.

I’m sure folks will try to sled through the tubes during the next big snowstorm (if we will ever have those again.)

Lmao wow that would be incredibly brave. Going down that hill and getting one of those metal circles right between the legs is not something I’d be risking!

Saw that Dix Park is hosting a trolley tour of the park next month on Sat 8/16 from 12-2 pm. Tickets go up for grabs on 8/2.

But imagine if the Pullen Park Railway were somehow extended to Dix…

Was able to get out this weekend early to see the sunflowers. There were a lot of folks out there, and lots of cameras were clicking. This year’s crop was taller than last year. I’d say most were in the 4-5ft range with some shorter and some significantly taller.

Well I was briefly out at Dix Park myself. Never been able to catch these in full bloom until today.

Went by the new Gipson Playground too. Very crowded and very nice. Seems to still be some DHSS offices on the grounds still.
Thought that little bike path complete with traffic circle was fun and gets people used to lane markings and traffic circles but it seems to wear off as you age!

Gondola? This will be at the State of Downtown, interested to see what they present.

I would be absolutely shocked if it were the gondola. I’m thinking a strollway of some sort like the pilot/test case they did a couple of years ago. Even some kind of bridge or elevated walkway for a portion of it would be a step up from what I’m expecting.

Fingers crossed for something that is actually “bold”

The list of speakers for that session are the typical stakeholders and then someone from “Greenways Inc”, so yea, probably just a fancy path or maaaybe a ped bridge?

The gondola was associated with “Bold” not that long ago when they teased it and “seamless” and strollway don’t jive for me. If it’s any pathway/strollway, it’s not bad, but it’s not seamless and also not bold, IMO.
