Is this supposed to really kick off in earnest once DHHS moves out to Blue Ridge? And speaking of, anyone know when that is supposed to be ready?
last i heard they wanted to move in by summer 25
Not a great photo, but there is epic looking playground equipment staged at Dix. Looks like a ropes course among other things
fresh-ish aerial view i don’t believe has made it to this forum yet:
Nice video, thank you!
Exactly where in Cary is this? Downtown Cary most likely?
I honestly wonder how large the planting will be, the large structure in the middle will stand out for a decade or two if they are newer and small trees.
On another note, I strongly believe that the majority of the roads throughout the park should have dedicated bike tracks.
Similar to this street in Amsterdam:
Edit: This is what we don’t need

There’s a lot going on here!!!
Cary says “look at my new park”. Raleigh says “hold my beer for a couple of decades”.
A buddy of mine is the camera operator for the ABC11 helicopter. He posted this in the comments of a post on the OCD Facebook page. He can go a little higher than I’m allowed.
This park is going to be nutty when done. The Big Field doesn’t look so big from this angle. This park is LARGE
Adaptive reuse of those DHHS buildings…soooo much opportunity…
For real… Don’t let the NIMBYs know, but we could score some serious tax revenue
I’d love to see some public private things able to happen as we proceed in developing commercial opportunities to keep the park / maintenance funded. If we sign a long lease to a developer for some sort of hotel / gallery / museum combo in one of those DHHS building, for example, then that developer also signs on to create elements with defined community benefit such as artist / start up co-lab / incubator / workspace, micro retail spaces, workforce housing, community meeting spaces, etc…
