Downtown South development

Happy news to me about the greenway on Green St. Is the intent to have it run the full length of Green to Prospect?
I wonder what the potential problems would be with connecting a Green St greenway track through Mt Hope Cemetery to the Rocky Branch. It’s a city cemetery, so technically public property.

Great question.

I pulled this from the original Downtown South report.

I guess there’s something to his name being on the filing after all.

Malik bought the land. That’s why his name is the one you see.

Passed by yesterday and there was a crane on site along Saunders. Looks like they removed this billboard.

I wonder how much longer until dirt moves.

They had been saying June. So many fruitless bike rides (wait do those even exist?) over there last month looking out for construction equipment. @PedroPastrana construction is supposed to start Q3 this year.

Always love the demise of a double lottery billboard. One less billboard wins my vote. I love this project.

I’m not sure I’ve gotten aerials of DoSo before, so here are some pre-constriction shots.

Def S of DTR, not DTR

I think I’m much higher than most here on DTS eventually expanding the urban footprint of Downtown. Hasn’t even broken ground yet and the influence of this and Dix has 2 projects on Lake Wheeler and another huge rezoning. It’d just take a few parcels along Saunders to basically extend the urban feel. Maybe it’s the Atlanta in me seeing how Peachtree developed.

It looks like all of Kane’s projects are aligned

And, when the time to ascend is nigh, his beacon star will then radiantly shine down upon all that he has wrought.

It’s the most efficient way to run the future monorail from North Hills to DoSo. They’ll have to plan around my gondola :mountain_cableway: going from S Fayetteville St to Dix.

This is the theoretical “Prime District” that Amazon turned up its nose at. But Kane is building it anyway :stuck_out_tongue: We just need the Prime Transit (Monorail!!!) to link it all together.
