DTR Barbecue Thread

I can already hear the Texas bias…
And he should check out Prime in KDale.
IMO, we’re pretty fortunate to have a bunch of folks doing good Que work across the spectrum.

The last 30 seconds (or so) are precious from the local guy. Worth a watch.

So Dampf is a pop up? I just checked them out on google maps and got this.

I think they are opening a brick and mortar location in clayton.

Thanks. Hopefully the open one in Raleigh too.

They’re a food trailer kinda thing right now…Were over at Hartwell recently but no steady location that I’ve noticed…might be a good option for the Yard…?

Looks like some serious movement at Longleaf Swine’s (formerly Oakwood Cafe) location. New paint job and the windows are removed. Progress?

Oh this just reminded me! My buddy is a friend of the owner of Prime BBQ in Knightdale and said that Guy Fieri stopped in for some a day or two ago (i.e. a few days after the Rage concert, which means he had been hanging out here!)

Long leaf swine is coming along. It’s ambitious to think they’ll make any date in September.

Nice to see the beams up for outdoor seating at least!

Might be one of the few “new” restaurants I’ve actually eagerly anticipated in Raleigh. Every time I’ve tried their pulled pork or brisket at a pop-up, I’ve been blown away.

Took the fam to Sam Jones after church today. Major respect to any place you can belly up to the bar for a cocktail and still catch the Hayes Barton Baptist broadcast haha.

It looks like Longleaf Swine should open any day now. This morning they were getting deliveries from Cheney Brothers(produce), their smoker is fully stocked with wood and beer glasses were lining the windows.

It was packed there last night. Maybe they had a preview night?
