Which bar (club) was the source of this excitement last night?
Well, it’s nice to see more people back on Fayetteville St?

If it’s the 200 block as the photos imply, Zenith recently closed, and there’s a new concept in that unit (new enough that it’s not listed on Google Maps yet)…
Until policies change you can stick a fork (knife) in vitality!
I guess that the city wasn’t successful in containing the weekend shit show to just Glenwood South where they want it to be?
It’s really concerning to me that this happened NOT at 3AM, but just after Midnight. I’ve typically held that the after bar closing hours are the hours where I don’t want to be found on the streets, but Midnight is prime time, dead center, of the 10PM-2AM “party” time.
What we seem to have building in downtown is sort of an example of the Broken Windows Theory. That is to say that disorder encourages more disorder.
There was also a stabbing in this vicinity about a month ago.
i guess an ER might bring more traffic too
The quaint community of Raleigh is shaken too the core I know the NIMBYs are gonna be working overtime and use this example to show why Raleigh doesn’t need to be a big city.

I saw the guy they arrested apparently acted in self defense and had his charges dropped today.
That’s both concerning and good news that someone defending themselves isn’t being charged. Now, what about the aggressors? Do we know anything about them? Are they facing charges?
The Raleigh Downtown Facebook page said they were not. I think the public probably needs to see the video.
How is it possible that the aggressors are not facing charges?
That’s the $64,000 question everyone is asking now.
Clearly we need to see the video so that we can fully understand what happened, but until we do it’s difficult to imagine that someone who had charges dismissed for cutting several people wouldn’t have been in a situation where that one person was attacked by the group of people that he cut. Otherwise it just doesn’t make sense.
I put in a public records request for the video since it sounds like there won’t be prosecution and the charges were dismissed.

Some photos from last week’s Art Festival. Also got a chance to step into the City of Raleigh museum. I’ve always wanted to go, but it tends to slip my mind.
The lights on the trees are gone on Fayetteville street!
Arborists are doing seasonal maintenance on the trees, the lights will be back.
