Me too. A design on top of it would be nice.

Also, I am the last person whom wants a “square” building!
Perhaps, if you make it a more interesting shape/design maybe it wouldn’t be as bad you think?

And having a nice crown on top of it bam

Just Google how ridiculous Oklahoma City looks with its one giant tower.

It actually looks good, IMO! Although, I do get your point.
Think about it this way, we can either build up, higher, and higher, until we get to 60 or we can add a :unicorn: 60 story AND then continue to add shorter and shorter around it.
We’ve had it one way forever…and I am all for trying new things. :eggplant:

I’m in the “it looks ridiculous” camp as well. See also Mobile, AL

How often does the average human being see OK City from this view, though… @RobertSanderlin’s photo showed how it looks from a human vantage point, and it just looks like … a city with a wide-range of height variation. Also, Raleigh is in a much better position to build more 30-40 story buildings around any 50-60 story tower, making it stick out less as time goes on IMO.

Well if you think about all the developments already in the works, it won’t be as strange. In fact, the buildings would probably look almost like stairs going up to the tall one if you do a big pano

Those conceptual renderings were way out of whack from the get go.

This just reminds me of the 3 bears, and who doesn’t love the 3 bears?

and I don’t want to discreminate against the 3 little piggies, so for the sake of @GucciLittlePig, here are the 3 little piggies as well,

The shorter residential/hotel building will probably be the only building that will be built, if anything is built on either lot.

The city said they still want both towers developed. We’ll see soon enough. I think they are expecting the plans or developer to be announced soon

Corpus Christi Is worse.

The ones with no pants are not “just right”

Winston-Salem’s skyline always cracks me up. At least one of our tallest buildings doesn’t look like a :eggplant:

Man, I like pretty much all of those buildings in context. Different strokes (heh W-S) for different folks.

The NYC skyline looked like that for ages with the Empire State towering way over everything in Midtown and now people complain that it’s not as prominent.

I believe that something like this (whitish grey building in the middle) on one of the lots would suffice, height and design wise. Yes, I know this is an old black and white rendering

The 60 story Bentley Residences building going up in Miami would be a nice centerpiece here, considering whatever we get likely won’t be office focused.
