Fayetteville Street Developments and Vitality

Maybe they didn’t get a good niche or the competition in downtown is too tight for the number of residents there, yet. WakeMed Primary Care in the RedHat bldg and Fast Med on Hargett has the Urgent Care market covered. Wonder where UNC was trying to fit in with it?

Lol, I haven’t had a haircut since they closed and I’m getting scraggly, but I might just hold out. Knew they were planning to reopen at least.

There’s one in Cameron Village and North Hills. They’re not that far lol. To be fair, I grew some much longer than normal COVID hair when they all closed.

I’ll likely be moving to Wakemed as a result. It stinks because I really liked the physician I had, but I’d prefer my primary care provider to be within walking distance for the convenience of it.

Mostly I’m just allergic to driving the car these days. It was a nice little joy to just bike to my haircut and bike home. Village District isn’t exactly outside my range, but I’d be pretty sweaty when I got there…

A big part of why I wanted so badly to live in the downtown area was to go single-car and only have to drive a couple times a week. For a while that was looking really doable.

Yeah, I know, it’s not gonna kill me.

I’ll drive you over next time I’m downtown. But you have to put your head out the window on the way back. Don’t want all those little hairs in my car…

The GoRaleigh 16 (Crabtree Mall) and 12 (Method) routes both have stops along Cameron throughout The Village district and run a half-hour apart from one another even during the once-an-hour non-peak period providing half-hour service all day.

Both depart from Platform E near Martin Street. Could take your bike with you. Usually not very crowded.

Ebike fixes that. Ebike for the errands or places where you don’t want to sweat; Road bike, or gravel, for the workout.

The longer route on my commute to work is 8 miles (via majority Greenway). Can take me 30-35 mins mins on my ebike. 8 miles covers a very large range of things. 2 miles can be about 8-10 mins which is short enough for an errand.

Corner of Hargett and Fayetteville. There was a bank on that corner, forget the name.

Let’s not over sell it…

Some of the laces look pretty darn cool though. Probably fits right in with the same crowd that would go to the COR Museum.
