there are several other enterprises still remaining there i assume . i guess new potential buyers will accept the risk and pay an insurance premium perhaps.
Grubb is calling their development next to Iron Works “Salvage Yard.” Triangle Rock Club will be the anchor.
I’m not a rock climber. But this is pretty cool.
This is going to be an awesome choice…!!!
Not a climber, personally, but the gym culture / climbing boom is happening across the country and this location creates a centralized location for us here in Raleigh. Pretty exciting from a multi-use perspective. Getting more stoked (to use the proper vernacular) about this whole Iron Works / Hodges area…!
Especially considering the only “Raleigh” location is currently off Pleasant Valley/Glenwood which is just way the hell out there for most people, and not much closer than the Morrisville or Durham locations if you’re not already on the West side of Raleigh. I love climbing, and have an old friend who is an avid climber with a membership, I’ve already texted her that I expect a climbing session with her guest pass once this opens
That looks very cool! This part of town has some really interesting things going in.
I just hope these different developments will be walkable, so it feels like a unified district, not a collection of separated developments.
THAT part - can’t call this whole area the Iron Works “DISTRICT” if it’s just an assortment of suburban office park type layouts
This is awesome!
Climbing gyms are incredibly fun. I’m not “a climber” but I’ve been a few times, and it is an amazing workout. And there’s nothing like the rush of being 25’ off the ground holding on as hard as you can, and slipping off!!
Being able to bike to the climbing gym, then go for a beer and bike home will be a great activity!
I’m just thrilled I get to use a new emoji!
2114 Atlantic rezoning deferred again to 9/20

ShopLocalRaleigh posted on Instagram about a sneak peak event at Iron Works yesterday.

Not quite sure what this is about - neighborhood meeting set for 10/5 for rezoning the parcels they already built all the Iron Works stuff on. I guess it’s mostly important for the unbuilt area closer to the train tracks?

I meant to post this earlier, but it might have something to do with this new rendering advertised on Wakeforest Rd.
Looks like rezoning for the Phase 2 from 7 floors to 20 floors. This image is not on their website anymore so must be changing.
East End market is different from the Iron Works, right? I think these are two different projects (I could be wrong).
Iron Works is Jamestown and Grubb. That sign shows different developers.
Dang, the building in the lower left, next to the Bow building was one of the more interesting proposed lately.
Hopefully they keep this same aesthetic, just twice as tall!!! I can only see this as a win!
Might not be new information, but I just noticed it.
The map on the Iron Works website shows the arrangement of buildings for the recently announced Salvage Yard to the north with Triangle Rock Club. Also includes the location of art installations, greenspace, and tenants Ponysaurus, East Cut, FX, and Jaguar Bolero, which is unfortunately at the back of the development. Still teases a “Future Pedestrian Bridge” across Atlantic to Dock 1053. Helps envision the potential scope of this district.
Did anyone attend the Iron Works open house this past weekend? Any info apart from the Instagram highlights?
Man I hope the pedestrian bridge seriously does become a thing. That map shows Ponysaurus is gonna take the spot right there when you cross over. I can imagine that’ll be popular with people going from Lynnwood → Pony and vice versa.
Yeah different players on East End. Phase II tower is going through GMP bid at the moment
