Saw that yesterday on my drive home from work! I take Glenwood (from Crabtree Valley) to Oberlin, and the crazy thing is that you can see both of these cranes TOWERING over the trees from Glenwood right before you turn onto Oberlin! I tried snapping a quick pic while driving (spare me your judgement!!!) but it wasn’t great. I can post later if it appears to be a decent pic.
Iron Works is absolutely winning right now with the tenants/food concepts they’re landing.
Andia’s is the best ice cream shop in the Triangle. YoBa is a fantastic yoga studio as well.
Bickett Square, see ya there…
Or at least see ya from the Anisette / new Garland whatever…
Hope I’m wrong but I think that neighborhood is going to be upset unless the intended use is a parking lot dedicated to neighborhood use forever and ever amen (also no poor people allowed)
Speaking for this family in the neighborhood = not upset. Looks very cool.

There is no reason to oppose this. Of course, those businesses could be impacted, but not existentially and potentially can land in the new concept. That would actually make a lot of sense for both parties it would seem.
Tons of added density and more affordable than the SFHs in the neighborhood. Building looks cool as well. 10/10 from me.
Already emails flying within the neighborhood about traffic and think of the kids.
Oh and someone worried about live music on the restaurant’s roof deck too late. (is that common? -not typical for restaurants I go to)
Oh and now someone worried about too many people will use the basketball courts at the park. And the park is historic from 1900s (… so that means something??)
yall. i just can’t with the constant negativity to any and every change.
Can this project ultimately be stopped at this point? I assumed this was a ‘good-faith’ act by the developer’
Too many people using a public park as a complaint is as tone deaf as it gets
Went to that basketball court a few times since it’s usually pretty quiet. Got some “looks” so this is very on brand for this neighborhood.
What a cool looking project though. Really hope it happens.
So, sounds like next community meetup should be a pickup basketball game at this very court ???
That’s an unfortunate reputation for my neighborhood
This neighborhood likes yard signs a lot. It usually rotates based on whatever the current outrage is.
“Stop RDU Quarry”
“Save the Farmer’s Market”
“Save our Neighborhoods”
“VOTE OUT Mary Ann Baldwin”
Mary Ann for Mayor 2023
Saw some of these “Save our neighbors” signs when biking near Lake Raleigh. I thought “this isn’t even your neighborhood. Save my parks from your signs.”
“Stop RDU Quarry” I don’t mind although I’m not sure if there’s something I’m missing there.
